A Woman's Time

was established in 1995 and has promoted and been providing integrated medicine, especially in the area of women's health to the greater Portland, Oregon area. Dr. Hudson initiated the first integrative medicine residency program in 1998 along with an eager recent NCNM graduate looking for a residency opportunity. Dr. Hudson herself was a first year resident in 1984-85, chief resident in 1985-86, and subsequently an NCNM clinical and academic faculty member, administrator, and now long term faculty for 23 years. These experiences have been fundamental in her recognition of the importance of residencies and her commitment to expanded residencies for her younger colleagues.

The Yellowstone Naturopathic Clinic

has offered a residency program since 1996 and currently offers a certified program in collaboration with Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Our intent has been to meet the community needs and to provide opportunities for graduates of Naturopathic medical schools in a busy, primary care clinic setting. The clinic was established in 1992 and moved to the current 7,000 square foot facility in the medical corridor of Billings, Montana in 2002. Our service area includes all of eastern Montana, northern Wyoming and parts of the Dakotas. We offer a wide variety of naturopathic modalities and interface with the medical community in a positive, collaborative manner allowing excellent postgraduate training for new ND graduates.

The Institute of Complementary Medicine, PLLC

offers an accredited residency program affiliate with Bastyr University and NERC. We have been a preceptor site since 1996 and have recently expanded to include a residency program. Since its inception in 1994, the mission of ICM has been to help bridge the gap between allopathic and naturopathic medicine and to give students and graduates the opportunity to experience a busy, successful naturopathic primary care practice. This residency provides a closely monitored experience that exposes the resident not only to primary care medicine but also to successful business practices. This residency includes clinical rotations with conventional medical specialists and naturopathic physicians and direct patient care.

Riverwalk Clinic

was established in 1998 and is a new residency site. Located in Vail, Colorado it is our intent to train N.D. graduates in how to practice in an unlicensed state. This residency includes clinical rotation with a naturopathic physician, direct patient care, research, marketing, pharmacy rotation and research. Being located in a resort community we see patients from all over the world. This residency focuses on primary care including women's health, pediatrics, and chronic disease.

Ho'o Lokahi

shares clinic space with a general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology practice under the direction of Monica Scheel, M.D. Dr. Traub brought Dr. Scheel into his practice in 2006 and rapid growth led to the building of a much larger clinic under a new roof in 2007. Dr. Scheel practices integrative dermatology and she and Dr. Traub collaborate regularly in patient care. Michaela Martin, ND, LAc, and Shanon Sidell, ND, both former residents of Dr. Traub's, practice part-time in the clinic also. Dr. Traub has practiced in an integrative setting since establishing his practice in Hawaii in 1986, sharing the office with various MDs, psychologists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, midwives, massage therapists, as well as other NDs.

The Center for Natural Medicine Inc (CNM)

was established since 1991 as an integrated clinic with ND, DC, LAC and LMT providers and is offering a NERC sponsored residency program as of 2010. CNM is a teaching clinic of National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) since 1999. CNM has offered residencies in collaboration with NCNM since 1999 as part of a fixed internship for last year medical students emphasizing cardiovascular and pulmonary naturopathic medicine and primary care.

Steelsmith Natural Health Center

was established in Honolulu in 1996 by Laurie Steelsmith N.D., L.Ac. The goal of our residency program is to help educate, guide and support new graduates on how to have a successful practices integrating naturopathic and Chinese medicine. Dr. Steelsmith has primarily been a solo practitioner since 1996, and opened up her practice for training new graduates two years ago. To accommodate the additional staff, Steelsmith Natural Health Center recently opened a 1,500 square-foot office that includes 5 treatment rooms, a pharmacy, and a public speaking room.

San Francisco Natural Medicine

is San Francisco's largest naturopathic medical clinic and newest NERC residency site, with its first resident beginning in January 2010. Founded in 1989 by Carl Hangee-Bauer, ND, LAc, the clinic has grown dramatically since the passage of SB 907, the Naturopathic Licensing Act, in 2003. Located on sunny Potrero Hill, the ~2750 square foot clinic space has eight treatment rooms as well as a spacious front office and well-stocked naturopathic and traditional chinese medicine pharmacy. There are presently three naturopathic doctors on staff as well as one resident position for a practitioner dual licensed as both a naturopathic doctor and a licensed acupuncturist. This residency offers the practitioner who integrates the principles and modalities of naturopathic medicine with those of traditional chinese medicine a supportive environment to learn, practice and develop their skills. This NERC residency is accredited with the CNME and affiliated with Bastyr University.

West Seattle Naturopathic Clinic

is under the direction of Dr. Katherine Oldfield who is a Washington native. She completed her undergraduate degree at University of Washington and attended medical school at Bastyr University, graduating in 2000. After graduation from Bastyr, Dr. Oldfield was a resident and then an associate at Peninsula Naturopathic Clinic in Gig Harbor, WA, her home town. Since 2002, she has owned West Seattle Natural Medicine Clinic with her husband Greg. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians She served on the board of the WANP for two years.

Northwest Center For Optimal Health

Dr. Kasra Pournadeali is a graduate of Bastyr University'. He received his undergraduate degree in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Pournadeali is founder & director, of the Northwest Center for Optimal Health, and an academic faculty member at Bastyr University. He has served as President of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and is an appointed board member for the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA)-accredited Foundation for Care Management.

Dr. Pournadeali serves on the Review Staff for the Journal of Naturopathic Medicine, and is a Member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. In addition to practicing at NCOH, Dr. Pournadeali educates the community through his weekly talk radio show: Healthy Living and on his Friday Morning television spot on the Northwest Cable News Network- serving Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and parts of California.

Naturopathic Family Medicine

Tamara Cullen, ND is a 1999 graduate of Bastyr University and currently practicing primary care medicine in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Cullen has always had a special love for working in pediatrics. She believes that teaching our children the philosophy and principles of naturopathic medicine will affect the greatest healthcare change in this world. It is because of this belief that she enjoys educating other providers on practicing pediatric medicine, and has done so both nationally and internationally. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and as the Advanced Pediatrics professor at Bastyr University. She is also a founding Board member of the newly formed PedANP, and co-author of “The Baby Cuisine Cookbook”. In addition, she has volunteered her time with NPLEX, the national licensing exam committee for naturopathic physicians. She spends the majority of her time at her private practice in Seattle and in addition, loves to swim, run, travel and spend time with her family.
